The practice

Three surgeons, three answers to “who should see this?”

We divide the work by what each of us actually does most of, and we say so on the referral acknowledgement so you know who has your patient.

Dr. Ingrid H. Vestergaard, DDS, MD01

Orthognathic & craniofacial

Dr. Ingrid H. Vestergaard

DDS, MD

Ingrid runs the orthognathic service and takes most of the practice’s combined orthodontic cases. She plans every skeletal movement virtually and shares the plan with the referring orthodontist before a theatre date is set — a habit she picked up during fellowship and has never seen a reason to drop.

She teaches on the University of Minnesota residency programme and is unusually direct with patients about the sensory risk of a sagittal split. Her position is that a patient who is surprised by numbness was not properly consented, and that consent is a conversation rather than a signature.

Focus

  • Orthognathic surgery
  • Virtual surgical planning
  • Cleft-related maxillary hypoplasia
  • Sleep apnoea advancement

Implant & reconstructive

Dr. Paul S. Lindqvist

DMD, MD

Paul founded the practice in 2009 on a single principle: place, do not restore. Every implant he places goes back to the referring dentist with a written fixture record and a date the site is ready to impress, and he has turned down more full-arch cases than he has accepted.

He lectures on graft selection and on the limits of the graftless full-arch concept, and is happy to be quoted saying that the commonest complication of a fixed full arch is not implant failure but the prosthesis.

Focus

  • Implant placement
  • Full-arch rehabilitation
  • Sinus and ridge augmentation
  • Pre-prosthetic surgery

Dr. Marcus Adeyemi in surgical scrubs and cap, standing against a plain wall
Dr. Marcus O. Adeyemi, DDS, MD03

Pathology, trauma & anaesthesia

Dr. Marcus O. Adeyemi

DDS, MD

Marcus holds the practice’s anaesthesia permit and runs the pathology pathway. He keeps assessment slots open every week for suspicious mucosal lesions, and he telephones every biopsy result himself rather than sending a letter.

He takes the practice’s share of the on-call trauma rota and is the surgeon most likely to answer the after-hours line at three in the morning, which he says has permanently changed how he writes post-operative instructions.

Focus

  • Oral pathology and biopsy
  • Facial trauma
  • Office-based anaesthesia
  • Dentoalveolar surgery

Practice credentials

What the practice holds.

Set out plainly, and clearly marked where a number is a placeholder. A demonstration site that invented licence numbers would be a demonstration of the wrong thing.
